Tämä kuva ei ole tältä päivältä, sillä nyt on harmaa päivä. Mies tosin sanoi nähneensä auringon, minä en. Kuva on muistaakseni otettu viime viikolla. Illaksi luvattiin vähän lumisadetta ja se ei ole yhtään hyvä. Pihatie on karmeassa kunnossa jo nyt ja jos siihen vielä tulee kerros uutta lunta, niin postilaatikolle meneminen on aika seikkailu. Kun yöt ja päivätkin ovat olleet pakkasen puolella, on sohjo tietysti jäätynyt oikein kunnolla auton raiteita lukuun ottamatta. En nyt voi miestä enkä itseäni asiasta syyttää, sillä silloin kun sohjon olisi voinut lapioida pois, niin se tuntui ylivoimaiselta hommalta. Tai ehkä luotimme siihen, että aurinko sen pian sulattaa. Onneksi ensi viikolle on luvattu plusasteita, joten ehkä se aurinko sitten sulattaakin tai ainakin pehmentää jäätikön. Jokohan arvaisi merkata tunnisteeksi kevään? Kevättä kohti ainakin ollaan menossa.
Meille näistä perjantai-illoista on näköjään kehkeytynyt viikon herkutteluilta, joka ei tietenkään ole luksus-ravintoloiden master chef -tasoa, mutta meille ihan tarpeeksi hyvä ja helppo illallinen. Vähän sitä ja vähän tätä pannaan pöytään ja jos jotain jää, syödään huomenna. Mies käy etenkin perjantaisin ehdottomasti yksin tekemässä ruokaostokset, joten ruokalista on tänäänkin lähes täydellinen yllätys. Ainakin katkarapuja, silliä ja Rosamunda-uuniperunoita siihen näyttää sisältyvän. Sitten kauppakassissa oli monta pientä, litteää pakettia, joiden sisältö selviää vasta illalla. En viitsinyt ruveta lukemaan hintatarroja, joista sisältö tietysti olisi heti selvinnyt. Mies lupasi tehdä jotain katkaravuista ja minä varmaan saan nostaa rosamundat vuokaan ja pistää uunin päälle, mutta muut ovat ilmeisesti valmista syötäväksi. Jonain perjantaina on tosin tullut kaksi pikkuista lampaan sisäfilettä, mutta ei niillekään paljon paistinpannua tarvitse näyttää. Sunnuntain ruokaa mies ei tainnut muistaa ostaa ollenkaan vai ajattelikohan, että näistä pikkuherkuista riittää kolmeksi illaksi?
Täällä satoi myös märkää lunta eilen illalla. Nyt on pilvistä, mutta kuivaa.

Voi kunpa Suomeen tulisi pääsiäiseksi kunnon kevät. Olen tulossa lomille silloin, enkä ole täällä Britannian lämmössä kasvattanut talvikarvaa :) Lämpöä lämpöä ihminen kaipaa. Jossain tutkimusessa sanottiin, että +17 astetta on ihmiselle ihanteellisen lämpötila terveyden kannalta.
